I know a lot of people don't like the Launchkey keybed but they seem fine to me. I have borrowed a Launchkey MkII to experiment with and I love the faders and pots but the pads blow. The keys on it are pretty good though, better than the Launchkey MkII for piano. I also have a Casio WK500 keyboard with a USB MIDI connection, but it's not a controller. The pads are very expressive for both drums and notes/chords. And when I do it's mostly me jamming on guitar with the magic drummer. My primary DAW is Ableton, every once is a while I'm mess with Garageband, but pretty rarely. I'm leaning towards the Launchkey, but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something. So I'm looking at these three controllers:
